Quiz: Are you looking
for Coaching, Counseling or Consulting?
While similar fields, each service has distinctly
different goals and results. We want you to find the
best results possible. Coaching can work in conjunction
with counseling or consulting. But coaching shouldn’t
substitute either. Determine what you’d like to
accomplish to find the results you need. Let’s begin by
taking this short, five-minute quiz….
Answer each question below with a yes or no.
Section One - Coaching
Do you want to look to the future, or focus on the past?
Are you ready to move to a higher functioning level? Do you want to work with someone whose roots are in
personal growth? Are you ready to take action to learn new skills?
Do you want to focus on finding solutions?
If you answered yes to most of these questions,
you are a good candidate for coaching.
Section Two - Counseling
Do you want to explore the root of your problem(s)?
Do you need emotional healing? Do you want to focus on past events?
Do you want to work toward resolving internal pain?
Do you want to bring the unconscious into the
consciousness?
If you answered yes to most of these questions,
you may be seeking counseling instead of coaching.
Section Three - Consulting
Will the coach and employee alone determine their work
scope? Do you want to evaluate performance or produce reports
for anyone other than the individual being coached? Will coaching be restricted to a narrowly defined issue? Do you seek particular expertise to diagnose, direct or
design solutions for the employee?
If you answered yes to most of these questions,
you may be seeking consulting instead of coaching.
